BETHANY HANMAN

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO). I completed a BA in Psychology at the University of Waterloo, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health at Humber College and a MA in Psychotherapy at Wilfrid Laurier University. I use an eclectic approach, grounded in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Attachment Theory, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Existential Therapy. Working with clients, I use strengths-based and trauma-informed lens to be able to understand why we do what we do, and how to cope through our lives in the ways that work best for us.

I work mainly with individuals in their teens and young adulthood who are navigating the many life changes and new experiences at that age. This is a time where we all feel a bit lost, and I think that is what makes it so special; it’s a time to explore what makes you, YOU!

Having the chance to walk with you through challenges is a special privilege that I do not take lightly. I prioritize offering clients a warm, comfortable space for you to feel heard and understood without judgement. Let’s find the time to discover what makes you the best version of yourself, what brings you joy and what causes you to feel pain.

I have had my own personal experiences in therapy and have found it to be so rewarding and eye-opening. I hope to offer you a space where you feel you can grow, learn, and deepen your understanding of yourself.

I am a huge fan of my cat, Tiff, who spends most of her time making sure I do not oversleep. I love to spend time outside, especially when a winter jacket is not required. I stay active by taking dance classes, yoga and going to the gym when I can!

I would love a chance to meet you to begin exploring the work we can do together.

The first step can be intimidating, so let’s take it together!
