FAMILY

COUNSELLING

Family Counselling creates the space for individuals to  come together and discuss their problems and goals for their relationship. There is no such thing as a perfect family. Every family has their own issues with dynamics, expectations, communication and boundaries. Through family counselling each individual can discuss their concerns in a safe space, and learn different techniques, tools and strategies to be able to become closer.

Issues that come up most often in Family Counselling:

  • Managing High or Unrealistic Expectations

  • Communication

  • Crossing Boundaries

  • Generational Trauma

  • Managing Conflict

  • Family Dynamics

  • Cross-generational Conflict

  • Separation/Divorce and Blended Families

  • Co-Parenting

  • Grief

  • Academic Issues

  • Coping Strategies

Often times, Family Counselling can be helpful as an addition to Individual or Couples Counselling. For example, a teen or adult child in Individual Counselling, can then schedule a Family Counselling session with the parent to work through their concerns together, or to bring a family ally to help with coping strategies.
