ALICIA LANGLOIS

I am Registered Social Worker who holds a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. Additionally, I also hold a Honours Bachelor of Sociology, with a Minor in Women and Gender Studies from Brock University. I have eight years of experience working closely with children, youth and their families.

I work from a strengths-based perspective and believe that we all have the ability to grow and heal. My approach is founded on creating a space of warmth, openness and non-judgment. I strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable and supported to be true to who you are.

Although my speciality has been supporting children, youth and families struggling with anxiety, depression and emotional dysregulation; I also have experience working with individuals who struggle with self-harm, self-esteem issues, parenting issues and helping individuals process difficult experiences.

My work is grounded in attachment theory and uses a trauma-informed lens in providing treatment through drawing upon techniques from: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Play-Based Therapy.

In my free time, some of my personal interests include training for my next running marathon, watching the newest tv show on Netflix and spending time with my animals.

It takes incredible strength to reach out, I look forward to working with you on your healing journey.
