SABA RIZVI
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and an Art Therapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists. I am also a Board member at the Ontario Art Therapy Association. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Exceptionality & Giftedness, with honours, from the University of Toronto.
I have been passionate about being an artist and a therapist my entire life and feel blessed to be able to support others in their life journey. I believe the client is the expert of their life as our unique DNA, cultures, and experiences affect our live’s in various ways. Creating a non-judgemental and trusting space where the client can express their needs, dreams, and concerns safely, and where we can work collaboratively to find the most helpful and fulfilling way to facilitate their healing journey is of utmost importance to me. I use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, with an anti-oppressive lens. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ALT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative therapy, play therapy, and I am certified
in Neurorehabilitation for brain injuries.
In my work as a psychotherapist, I have successfully introduced Art Therapy at numerous locations, including the long term care units at Milton District Hospital, Oakville Trafalgar memorial Hospital, and Nisa Homes. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, PTSD, learning disabilities, relational struggles, traumas, and chronic illness. My youngest client has been 3 years old and my eldest client was 102 years old.

When I'm not working, I'm probably traveling, I love it. One of my favourite ways to de-stess is to play video games. The way to my heart is by chocolate and Tim Hortons French Vanilla.
I look forward to meeting you and empowering you on your therapeutic journey.
