Lily MacKenzie

Lily is not accepting new clients at this time

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

I have a BA in Psychology and an MA in Counselling Psychology from Western University. I have experience providing psychotherapy to adults with diverse concerns, including self-esteem and self-worth, grief and loss, guilt and shame, past trauma, anxiety and depression, emotional regulation, life transitions, and relationship concerns.

I support clients who are navigating many different kinds of challenges to move from shame and self-criticism to honouring their experience with clarity and understanding. Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and deeply affirming. I will not endeavour to take away the strategies that have helped you survive. Instead, I will sit with you and honour every part of you as you learn to relate to your experience in new ways. We will tap into your unique strengths and values to meet your emotions with calm curiosity.

I integrate a variety of trauma-informed, person-centred approaches to meet you where you are, including relational-cultural, emotionally-focused, internal family systems, and mindfulness techniques. I am attentive throughout therapy to what might be coming up in your body, emotions, thoughts, and in the relationship between us. I am conscious of social and cultural contexts and committed to naming systems of oppression and their effects on mental health.

Outside of my work, some of my favourite things to do include practicing yoga, going to my own therapy (therapists have therapists, too), rewatching my favourite sitcoms, and enjoying good food with my family and friends.

If you want to get a sense of what it’s like to work with me, I offer a free, 15 to 30-minute consultation for us to begin to get to know each other. I would be honoured to support you as you reconnect with yourself and deepen your understanding of your own experience.
