EMMA CAMPBELL
I am currently completing a Master of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University and hold a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting and Drawing and a minor in Sustainability Studies from Concordia University. I have worked in public programming and outreach for many years, facilitating groups and working with individuals to provide supportive spaces for exploration and growth.
To my work, I bring a love for the complexity of human experiences and a playful, empathetic approach to practice. I believe we heal best through meaningful connections with one another, and I am here to support you through that process. Through my previous work as an arts educator, I delivered programs focused on building confidence and resiliency and developing a more profound sense of self. As someone with ADHD who struggles with emotional dysregulation, I approach my practice from a disability, person-first framework so I can focus on you in your entirety. My work is grounded in anti-oppressive, trauma-centred care that considers the complex and often contradictory nature of human experience while inviting humour, curiosity, and playfulness to the fold. I aim to create a comfortable space where you can feel seen, loved, and understood in all your complexity.
In my personal life I love spending as much time with my friends and loved ones as possible. I love being outdoors, biking, skiing, backcountry camping, sneaking around abandoned lots or strolling through old neighbourhoods. Scheming new adventures (featuring comprehensive spreadsheets), laying on the floor or listening to a podcast while cleaning are some of my favourite ways to self-soothe nowadays.
I know it can be challenging to reach out at times; I have been there too. If you are looking for a curious, non-judgemental, and empathetic ear to listen to you, consider booking a consultation so we can get to know each other better.
I can't wait to meet you and look forward to walking with you.
“To me, life, for all its privations, is a luminous thing. You have to risk it”.
- Jeanette Winterson
