I am a registered member of the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service Workers, and hold a Masters of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. I have over 8 years of experience working closely with children, older adults, and more recently with victims of violence.
It is important to me that the therapeutic relationship be the right fit for the individual, to allow for trust, growth and a successful therapy process; which is why I offer a free consultation to meet with me and see if I am the right fit for you. I also offer a sliding scale fee to make counselling affordable and accessible for everyone to focus on their mental health. I dedicate myself to understanding the perspectives, experiences and goals of the individual, and meeting them where they are at. I tailor the treatment to fit with the individual(s) and their specific needs, in an inclusive, authentic and down-to-earth manner.
I believe that counselling should be accessible and affordable for everyone to be able to focus on their mental health and get the support they need; which is why I offer a sliding scale based on your annual income.
I use techniques from various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Strengths-Based Therapy.
I came to Canada at a young age, from Peru, and have lived in the Waterloo Region since then. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, going for walks with my children, watching movies and relaxing with a good book.
I look forward to getting to know you, and help you navigate through this current challenge, so you can live your best life!
